Luke 12:27 “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil or spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.”
Can you think of a time when you ever truly had to walk by faith and not by site? It’s a very scary place to be in as it’s happening. It sometimes makes very little sense that we seek a God we can’t see and we listen for a voice that hasn’t been audible since the time of Moses and Abraham. Yet, when we walk by faith and are totally dependent upon God’s grace and provision, we really start to see God’s power and strength; not to mention, experience His blessings.
I heard someone say once, that sometimes it’s only when we’re flat on our back that we can look up at God. Sometimes, people have to get to their lowest points in life before they will look up at God. Think about this, on a clear day when you look up toward the sky, it’s endless. The blue goes on forever and you can see very clearly. Compare your limited view of the heavens to the way God sees you and provides for you. We can only see with our eyes as far as is physically possible, but God sees the impossible.
When you are walking and seeing life through faith, you’re seeking and seeing with your heart in the spiritual realm. There’s no limit to what the heart and soul can see because you’re seeking on a much deeper plain. You’re watching and waiting upon the Lord and trusting in His will, which is perfect, and good, and pleasing to Him.
One thing you have to remember when you walk by faith is that God has put you in a place where you are completely and utterly reliant upon Him alone. And usually it’s only in that place when we can begin to recognize His grace and provision for what it is, God’s reward. Are you truly willing to step out in total faith and have total dependence upon Him, and trust that He will make it happen?
When it comes to managing your career, it’s a tough question to answer. If you have loved ones who depend upon you to provide, it’s difficult to take that risk. Take a moment though to think about how your loved ones depend upon you – they trust that you’ll make the right decision in order to take care of them. Can you not trust God in the same way? Can you and will you allow yourself to totally depend upon the Lord in providing you with a rewarding and fruitful career? Can you believe that the Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth is capable of taking care of every little detail of your life – including your career?
I hope that you’ll begin a new journey as a seeker and open your eyes to the possibilities that God can create for you rather than focusing on the passionless limitations of a paycheck earned in an unfulfilling job. Money only goes so far, but God is infinite.
Hebrews 11:6, “Without faith it’s impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him
